When You Don’t Know What God Is Doing, Keep Trusting Him

Have you ever had one of those seasons where you just don’t understand what God is doing? You’ve prayed about it, you’ve waited, and you’ve tried your best to trust Him—but if you’re being completely truthful, you’d really like God to give you just a little peek at the plan. I know I’ve been there more than once. ☕️❤️

I think one of the hardest parts of trusting God is not knowing what comes next. We want answers. We want a timeline. We want to know how everything is going to work out. But so often, God simply asks us to trust Him one step at a time.

I’ve learned that just because I can’t see what God is doing doesn’t mean He isn’t doing something. Sometimes He is working in places I can’t see yet.

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”

— Proverbs 3:5–6

Sometimes trusting God simply means taking the next step and leaving the rest with Him. ❤️

That verse is easy to read when everything is going well. It’s a little harder to live when you’re right in the middle of the waiting.

But trusting God doesn’t mean we have to understand everything. It means believing that He sees what we can’t see. He knows what’s ahead, He knows what we need, and He is already working in the places we haven’t reached yet.

Sometimes the answer is yes. Sometimes it’s no. And sometimes it’s simply, “Not yet.” That waiting can be hard, but I’m learning that waiting on God is never wasted time.

I wish I could tell you that I always wait patiently and never question what God is doing. I don’t. Sometimes I pray about something and then catch myself trying to figure out how God should answer the prayer. 😊

But over and over again, He reminds me that my job isn’t to figure everything out. My job is to stay close to Him, keep praying, keep trusting, and take the next step He puts in front of me.

So if you’re in a season right now where you don’t know what God is doing, don’t give up. Keep talking to Him. Keep opening His Word. Keep showing up. And keep trusting Him—even when you can’t see what He’s doing yet.

Lord, help me trust You even when I don’t understand what You’re doing. When I get impatient or start trying to figure everything out on my own, remind me that You already see the whole picture. Help me stay close to You, trust Your timing, and have faith that You are working—even when I can’t see it yet. Amen. 🙏
